A Moratorium On Suspensions

I feel that children must be in school to learn. According to a Mar 19, 2019, Twincities.com article - Black students, who make up 31 percent of district students, received 73 percent of suspensions in the first quarter of this school year, according to a recent report to the state. Last school year, 74 percent of suspensions went to black students. American Indian students are suspended at an even higher rate. This is unacceptable when schools reopen the new model they must operate on must reduce the number of suspensions amongst the Black student population in Minnesota Public Schools
